More Waiting

Last week was I guess another week from hell. Basically I've still not had my operation so am still in very bad pain and unable to use my right arm/hand. I've also got a high temperature again so I think I still have the infection. Due to problems it's looking like I'm not going to get the operation until 2nd December.

Newark Hospital

I saw the specialist again today at Newark Hospital who says that I now need an operation to remove the extra bone in my shoulder. This extra bone is causing problems with my tendons and nerves for my right arm/hand. He's hoping to do the operation this Thursday or next Tuesday which should help with the pain. According to the pre-op nurse the recovery time will be 6-10 weeks. Looks like I'm going to be recovering and off work over Christmas :(

A Week From Hell

What a week. It all started Monday morning when I lost feeling in my right hand and started with very bad pains in my right shoulder. Having spent almost 12 hours at Queens Medical Centre they diagnosed me with an infected shoulder joint and found that I had grown some additional bone on my shoulder. By Tuesday evening the pain was getting worse, It was bad, I've never experienced pain like it. The pain was that bad that I went to Hospital again (this time Kings Mill in Mansfield) and was admitted straight away. I was given some medication and let out later on Wednesday but was admitted again Friday.

This time I was seen by a specialist who gave me some steroid injections and asked that I see him in Newark Hospital next week. I'm now back at home again and am still in immense pain and am unable to use my right arm/hand. I just hope the specialist can do something when I see him next week.
